1 out of 5 stars Boring   September 8, 2010

Terribly boring. Terribly boring.

I liked the earlier Biggest Loser first season workout much better. You want to fall asleep with this video.

It is not at al like p90x

This is a great workout for someone who is not in shape and/or hasn't worked out regularly in a while. It is intense, but doable. I'm beginning week three and can already tell a difference in my strength and endurance. The video is meant to get you up and moving and ready for the next intensity, P90X. It does just that! I feel that I'll be ready for the P90X when I'm done with the P90's 90 day workout.

5 out of 5 stars It Works.   June 30, 2010

What a shocking revelation it is that exercise, combined with reduced/improved diet, results in weight loss. No miracle pills or gimmicks, just common sense applied in a very functional and accessible way.

I ordered P90 instead of P90X because I was starting from relative scratch at 39, and I knew I probably couldn't have handled P90X's rigor to start a program. Plus, the P90 workouts are a bit shorter (32 mins for circuit/resistance, 38 mins for cardio/abs). I purchased the product through Amazon prime, and had it in 2 days, as usual. I started and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the materials and production. The supplied resistance bands have proven sufficient for my to date (1 month in), and the resistance can be altered by how short you make them for each exercise. I may, however, switch to dumbbells for a few exercises. At first, I had difficulty with a few of the resistance exercises (usually in the amounts in the third set), and could not finish all of about 1/3 of the cardio moves, especially the second rounds. But, I have quickly caught up, and now can do just about everything to the max, and am about move up from level 1/2 to level 3/4.

One month in, I am down 19 lbs, and I feel worlds better. P90 is great because it takes minimal expense ($65) and inconvenience (I set up an old DVD and monitor in my garage) to do it. The supplied materials will help you with nutritional changes that will benefit the regimen, too. Tony Horton's training style is motivational, but not annoyingly so like many. It may not be easy, especially at first, but nothing worth doing ever is. Stick with it, and you WILL see results. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars A great program that will get you ready for P90X   June 12, 2010

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3Q6YYKPBU0IYM I'm a huge fan of this program and completed a round of Power 90 before progressing to P90X. It's a great workout program if you're either new to fitness or looking for something less expensive and less intense than P90X. The workouts are about 30 - 40 minutes in length and you alternate days between strength training and cardio.

In this review I discuss the overal concept behind the program, who should do the program and who should not do this program, the nutrition plan (notice I said "plan" and not a "diet"), what equipment you'll need, why I think it works, and tips on where to buy and avoid buying from.

4 out of 5 stars Great Program   June 4, 2010

I started this program on March 14th and I can't say enough good things about it. I was considering P90X, and was glad I checked out the reviews because I had a lot of weight to lose and was just starting out on a fitness program. Since Power 90 seemed less daunting, I decided to give it a try. The program is great, but I got bored with the cardio and replaced that with elliptical trainer sessions. I also slacked off on the Ab workout, but committed to doing the Power Sculpt. I'm approaching the last week of the 90day program and I'm happy to report that I've lost about 35lbs in less than 3 months.
